November was a pretty unentertaining and sort of hectic month. Our room addition is almost complete...we were hoping for a Thanksiving completion date, but that didn't happen. It will be done sometime in December instead. The weather has begun cooling off finally, as it has been unseasonably warm (no, it's not global warming). It was Daddy’s birthday this month........any birthday in our home is a welcome event! Thuthie loves singing "Happy Birthday" so we've heard that one many many times. We spent Thanksgiving down at Lake Monroe. Mercedes Wilson was able to join us (poor thing to be subjected to the Smith family fiasco). We had a wonderful and relaxing time together. The men had their annual paint ball wars while we women stayed in where it was warm and dry. Late this month, Mommy and Emma went to the Nutcracker Ballet with Opa, Dt, Aunt Meggy, Faith and MeMe Ryder. You can see a picture of us in our pretty dresses. Emma was mesmerized. The two of us had seats with Opa, and Emma and Opa were chatting about the performance the entire night. At one point there was one instrument playing (the orchestra was in a pit and could not be seen) and Emma leaned over to me and whispered, “Mom, is that a French Horn?” I said, “I’m not sure. Ask Opa.” She leaned over and asked her grandfather.....he looked at me in amazement and nodded his head yes. We're still not sure how she knows to identify a French Horn. Hmmm. Kids. Vivian began crawling this month! She is everywhere. She is even trying to climb stairs, so the baby gates have been returned to their full, upright and locked positions. Vivian loves the "pat a cake" song and Dt and Aunt Keeka (Veronica) taught her how to “roll it and roll it.” It is the cutest thing! Well, we’ll definitely have more to report after December. Frankly it is nice having a quiet month. |
