Another busy month! We are all so happy that Ruthie is here. She is growing quickly. Her cheeks are filling out quite nicely. I love to give her gentle kisses. Sometimes when she begins to cry I will go up to her and try to soothe her. I will say, “It’s ok, Ruthie. Don’t cry.” It works most of the time. This month I began taking 2 classes! I am going back to the Little Gym for tumbling and I go to a music class with my cousins Sadie and Faith. We have such a good time dancing, singing and playing with instruments. The music class is called the Music Playhouse and my teacher’s name is Mrs. Diane. She is very animated and fun. This month Daddy took Mommy, Ruthie and I to the circus! I was in awe every minute. My favorite act was the elephant parade! I saw Lumpy in person (elephant character from Pooh’s Heffalump movie). I had popcorn and soda and was just thrilled with the whole show. One of my favorite treats is to watch movies in the car. My parents often tell me that if I am a good girl (in church, for example) I would be able to watch my sign language movie on the way home. So now, as soon as we get in the car (from anywhere) I say, “I was a good girl, Mommy! I was a good girl!” One time Mommy replied, “Yes.” So I said, “Say that, Mommy, say ‘You were a good girl.’” So my Mommy said, “You were a good girl, Em.” So I quickly responded, “Watch a movie??” We have a statue of the Blessed Mother in our front yard. One day my neighbor friend said, “Who’s that lady?” I promptly responded, “That’s Mary, Jesus’ Mommy.” She said, “Jesus’ Mommy???” I said, “Yes, Jesus’ Mommy.” She then said to her Mom who was standing beside us, “That’s Jesus’ Mommy.” Lately when Dad or Mom asks me to do something I respond by saying, “I can’t. I’m too little.” They just laugh and encourage me to try anyway. My Dad and Mom are fascinated at the way I name my stuffed animals and dolls. They will ask me the name of something and I will quickly respond with very unique names and I don’t forget the names either (even if it has been weeks since we talked about them). I named my baby doll “Betsy,” a grasshopper we caught “Winnier,” my horse “Elro,” my dog “Deedirt,” my teddy bear “Bladah,” and the list goes on and on. It was very hot one day this month and Mom and I were outside. I fanned my face with my hand and said, “Wow, Mom, I’m burning up.” She laughed and laughed. At the end of this month we flew to Scottsdale, Arizona to celebrate my Dt and Opa Smith’s 50th wedding anniversary! We all stayed at the Camelback resort and spa and had such a terrific time together. Faith, Ruthie and I were the only cousins there because we were too little to leave behind in Indiana. What a special celebration for two amazing people. Thanks for visiting this month! Now that we are all back to normal and in a routine with Ruthie and all, the website should stay pretty up to date! |
