October 2005

I can’t believe October has come and gone already!  It must be because I now have a little sister who makes life so much more fun!  Speaking of little sister—you should see her!  She is 10 weeks going on 10 months (in size)!  Ruthie has perked up so much this month.  She loves to smile at me and tries to talk.  Of course she only gurgles, but it makes me laugh.

This month Daddy, Mommy, Ruthie and I went to Nashville, Indiana for a fun fall Sunday.  What a cute little town that is!  We rode in a horse drawn carriage and I was able to sit up with the driver and hold the reigns!!

Sittoo, Giddoo, Auntie Bethy and my cousins Michael and Daniel came for a visit.  While they were here it was my Mommy’s birthday and we had a bowling party!  It was really fun!  We also visited Conner Prairie Settlement and were able to step back in time for a few hours.  That is such a beautiful place.  We got to meet a real Indian!  He sang a song for us and I was able to play an instrument with him.

We then went to Stoney Creek Farm to take a hay ride and pick our pumpkins!  We jumped and played in the hay and had a ball together.  Aunt Mollie, Lily, Wyatt and Sadie joined us.

Dad, Mom, Ruthie and I then drove to North Carolina to spend a week with Dt and Opa at their mountain house.  It was so beautiful up there and even snowed one day!  We drove in to Asheville and strolled around.  Dt and Opa were very gracious hosts.  Opa carved a pumpkin with me!  At the top of the mountain there is the coolest tree house.  I went there with my Dad and Mom.  There was a pretend kitchen and a rolling pin.  I rolled out cookies for a very long time.  I just loved it.

Opa pointed out to me that the very bright light visible in the night sky up on the mountain was Jupiter!  Now back in Indiana I look up at night for Jupiter.

When we returned home it was time to get ready for Halloween.  I was a little flower for Halloween and Ruthie was a little pumpkin.  Trick or treating was so cool!  I wanted to go all night long.  I cleaned up in the candy department!  Mom carved Lumpy in our pumpkin.  I couldn’t believe it!  Ruthie slept through Halloween, but Daddy and I went out to get candy while Mom stayed and passed some out.  Aunt Meg, Uncle Tom and Faith (dressed like a cute little chick) came over and we went to a couple of houses together.  After it was all over I got my nini and nightnight and put my head down on Mom’s lap.  She told me that I was a pretty flower and I said, “Thanks, Mom.  Now I’m a sleepy flower.”

Some fun things I did this month: I got to put on my new lady bug rain boots, rain coat and carry my matching umbrella one rainy day.  I love jumping in the puddles and Mom and Dad think I look so cute in my get up!  I sing every day and make up lots of my own songs.  I love playing with stamps and coloring pictures.  My new favorite game is Barnyard Bingo.  If you don’t have it, you should get it!  As soon as I come in to our house I take off my shoes and put them on the shoe shelf.  I also like keeping my playroom clean.  Mom likes that too!!  The other day Mom let me use the Windex and clean the glass top table and shelves.  I couldn’t believe I could do it all by myself!  Sometimes I take out the Swiffer and start cleaning up the kitchen floor.  Other times I use it as a pretend pony and trot around the kitchen!

The other day I walked in to Mom and Dad’s room and said, “Wow!  Beautiful room, Mom!”  I also one day was looking at my Mom and said, “Wow, Mom!  You have really beautiful blue eyes.  I have pretty brown eyes like my Daddy does.”

Mom and I were driving in the car and she had a Baby Einstein movie on in the car.  I hadn’t remembered seeing this when I was a baby so I said, “This is a beautiful movie, Mom.  What is the name of this movie?  It is my new favorite movie.”  Mom thought it was funny that one day I was holding my baby doll Betsy and decided she was hungry.  I told Mom I was going to give her “boo boos” (to nurse her).  I proceeded to lift up my shirt and hunt for my “boo boo.”  I was getting frustrated that I could not find one, but my Mom assured me that I had one and that Betsy was situated just right!

I enjoy meeting new people and I like to know their name so I say, “What you name is?”

Ok, enough of that.  Thanks for visiting!  See you next month!
